Dinner last night

Well, I guess we should start with our lunch from yesterday. While were waiting for our room to be ready, we had a sandwich, and Victoria got a pineapple margarita.

Here's the bread that comes with the meal.

And here's our appetizers. Victoria had tomato tar tar, and I had, i can't remember what it was called, but some sort of shrimp (the "shrimps" are in the bowl). Yup, that's right, on the menu you had "Shrimps."  I thought that was kind of funny.

For our main course I had Tuna steak, that was completely raw in the middle, and Victoria had hand seared mahi mahi.  Mine came with some mashed potatoes and some sort of vegetable arrangement.  All of it was great.  Victoria's came with a bowl of carrots, and what i think were zucchini, and peas which you can't see because it's underneath the other vegetables.

It's so weird, because apparently you aren't suppose to tip people at all here in Bora Bora.  For one, as Americans it's pretty ingrained in us that you tip your server at a restaurant, but from what I read you aren't supposed to, not only that but it can be offensive.  And second, it's hard to know much your tipping someone because of the exchange rate.  As of right now 1 USD = 85ish XPFs.

But the food is great, the view everywhere is beautiful, the sun is bright, so it's time to go get sun burned some more.  We'll post more pictures later this evening.

  1. Food pictures are so fun! I would have also ordered the "shrimps". Hope you took aloe vera gel for the sun burns. Have fun!
